Visiting for the first time?
Our greeters will meet you at the door and can answer any questions you may have about our congregation. We have a nursery available for our little ones from 6 months old to 5 years old. We invite older children into the sanctuary for a time of worship. On the first and third Sundays of the month children ages, 5 to 12 years old are dismissed to Children’s Church after worship in song and announcements.
What can I expect?
Who attends CMC?
All generations are well represented! We value and seek to benefit from each age group. As a church community, we are connecting and growing from generation to generation as we worship together. We are enriched by young adult Preaching Elders, with both genders represented.
What should I wear?
We believe what’s on the outside is not nearly as important as what God sees on the inside. Our attire would be similar to what you and your neighbors wear.
What about security?
We have a trained security team. All of our staff and volunteers working with children and youth are trained in our Child Safety Policies and must submit to and qualify for state Child Safety Certification. Our policies follow PA laws instructing anyone who suspects abuse of a child or youth to call Child Services directly. We fully cooperate with law enforcement. Providing a healthy, safe, and secure environment for our children and youth is a top priority for us.
What is provided for children?
During the Sunday school hour (9:30 am) we have Christian Education classes for all ages. Each child’s class has a Bible-based curriculum with wonderful teachers and helpers who share the message of Jesus. During the worship service, we have a staffed nursery for ages 6 months to 5 years old. We also have a Mother’s Room designated for use as needed. Children aged Kindergarten to 5th grade are dismissed from the service every 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month for Children’s Church.
What is the worship service like?
Our worship service begins at 10:30 am and you can expect to be yourself and relax! We worship with a mix of old songs and new with a bend toward contemporary. We typically lead a hymn before and after the message. We communicate to God through prayer. We celebrate God for who God is, including what God has done for us in Christ. Each Sunday there is a 20-25 minute message rooted in the biblical text, with extra focus on who the Bible says Jesus is so we can live out His story with integrity and grace. Following each service, our Pastoral Team offers prayer and anointing for anyone who would desire that ministry.
